Mural
Co and Nay Vietnamese Restaurant, Prospect, SA

2019
Prospect, Adelaide

Approached by owners Toly Vietnamese, an already successful food truck catering business, I was asked to creat the feature artwork of their upcoming restaurant, Co and Nay. The piece is a representation of the streets of Saigon, Vietnam, which I painted with acrylics and and impasto compounds.

With the restaurant set to open within 3 weeks of the day I started, many late nights were spent making sure it was ready. Halfway through the main wall, we looked at the potential to also paint Vietnamese poetry on a secondary area next to the bar / counter.

One of the main joys about creating mural artworks is that you can see first hand the profound difference it makes to the environment and when people (both from the restaurant, and customers) personally come up and compliment you, explaining how much they love it, a feeling of warmth is created that not much can parallel.
